If you are thinking of a place to visit, simply go to Paris. I went there for a weekend to celebrate a special occasion and the experience is still filling me up, a number of days later, when I write these lines. Paris is an amazingly beautiful city, so gorgeous that it is hard to describe it with a language. What amazed me most is the coziness I have felt there, like I have lived there for all my life. But let me deliver the story gradually; Day One.
The way to Paris from London is very easy, eurostar goes fast, almost flies. The magnificence of the city starts from the arrival, the big railway station almost puts you in a different world. It reminds of an old black and white movie; the massive station, the slowness of people, the speaker announcements for the trains, the people’s wear, almost everything is charming.

The way to hotel I went by foot. The streets are wide, the beautiful architecture, the colorful advertisements on walls, the stylish front of the shops, the people, the yellow autumn leaves all around, all of it was so magnificently romantic. In the hotel I have asked a room number 30, and it was a very tiny room but I was there for the city.
On the first day I walked to the oldest part of the city; the Norte Dame.

The route there went through many streets; small and big, simple and magnificent, up and down. I have enjoyed every moment of being there. What did irritate me most were the gypsies women, they come to me almost everywhere and asked for money, which made me wonder on how many of them are actually there in the city.

This drawing I did while sitting at a caffe, drinking mulled wine and listening to a busker playing accordion. The amazing fact about it was the understanding that there were not that many people around and I could enjoy being in one of the most touristy places without the mass of people, which happens in London.
Evening I spent in a caffe, drinking wine and warming up by huge round gas heaters located above.

And ofcourse I also spent time watching couples kiss, people call it the city of loveeeeeeeeeeee ……… [some days after I was told that one of my friends had her first kiss in the city :), where was my first I wonder :)]

p.s for the record, I have to mention that in the caffe I met some Israelis and they had a spare ticket for a concert of electronic music, which I had nicely slept through …. love snoozing in concerts, the best nap I can get.
