Swimming in London
It was on a Saturday a week or so ago. I came to help my friend fixing an old car. It was lovely sunny day which is quite rare this summer. In addition to the antique car, my friend (whose name is John) has a private pool. Through many times I visited the house he offered me a swim, but I politely declined the offer claiming that the water is too cold. So that Saturday, John saw that the weather is good and turned on the pool's heating first time on the morning. It is a proper pool, almost 12 meters long, so it takes time to heat it up.

Unfortunately the weather through the day was getting worse and worse. By the time we have finished the work on the car it was windy, chilly and almost raining. We had a nice lunch with his family and he mentioned that the pool heating is still on, and we can try the water. The offer was tempting, but he did not insist since it was already raining by that time. When else would I have an opportunity to swim in a private pool in London under rain? With this weather it can be arranged anytime, but the first time was very exciting indeed. With little hesitation we jumped in. The water was warm, 26degrees, and definitely enough space to swim. We have spent almost half an hour swimming and showing off to each other with different swimming styles.
What amazed me the most was the fact that the pool was literally handmade. It took John two years to build it up. He spent loads of time digging the earth and preparing the base, putting the plastics and all the other water heating and filtering equipment. I can not imagine myself having the wisdom and inspiration to visualize the finished pool and spend my free time on the dull project for two years. I used the word “dull” because digging earth for more than a year is not the coolest thing to do.

On the way back, a friend of mine had asked me how was I doing, I texted back that I have been swimming naked in a private swimming pool. My friend, with very wild imagination, was sure that there was a swimming pool with twenty blond Swedish girls. I wish it was true :)
