New Years Adventure (part1)
New Years vacation was a really carefully planned one. All I knew about it is that I am meeting my friend at Lille (France) where I should arrive with the euro star train from London. The other thing I knew is that we are heading to Poland. Thats basically all I knew.
I should have at least checked the weather ! When I got out of the train I have realised that it is freezing and my jeans cover is not going to keep me warm.
It took us 12 hours and 1,400 km to get to Poland. We drove through Belgium, Germany, Poland. All the way is highways. The roads are really good everywhere except Poland. It was really terrible to see that the country hasnot yet recovered from the soviet times and still missing highways.
Eventually we have arrived to Szczyrk. It is the second sky resort in Poland after Zakopane. I have no idea what had I been thinking to myself, there was snow there, windy and the temperature was -3 ! And all I had to wear was jeans ! On the other hand, I had nothing else ... in London it is not getting any colder then 0, therefore I have no proper wearing here.
The first thing I was surprised to see is the number of Aptekas there. Drags stores are literally 100 meters from each other. I have counted at least 5 in a really small city. It makes me wonder on the ratio of the Aptekas per Person compared to other countries.
We have stayed in a hostel, all of us. It was a group of 16 ish people. Can you imagine that we were told that there is not enough hot water if everybody takes a shower ?? I want to see something like this been told in Germany or England. It would be the last day of the place. ..... so we were taking showers in a shifts :)
Try guessing how long have I spent on the skying slops ... the answer in the next one ;)
