Tea and Scones

Continuing the previous post …

Saturday morning we woke up and went to the small city named Ambleside. It was full of tourists who were wondering around without any particular reason. We picked up the area map and went hiking to the mountains. The weather was good, but a bit windy. It took us a couple of hours to get to the top of the mountain for breathtaking view … but I thought I wouldnot make it … somehow it was very hard for me … probably all the hours I spend sitting in the lab ….

Sunday morning the guys have decided to go to the mass in the local church. I have joined them and found it to be a bit strange. It was more like a show then a religious ceremony …

After the mass, we hired bikes and went around the lake … huge trees, everything is green, a lot of boats on the lake … I was struggling with the bike. Apparently I can make an effort and face sharp upward roads for a short time but as soon as it becomes for a bit longer ... I cannot stand it …

On the way we have spotted a tea terrace, which was perfect after two hours of cycling. For me it was a new experience to have tea and scones. Tea and Scones is as famous as English Fish and Chips …. Tea is served with small biscuits (scones) and jam and cream …. It is very tasty …

todo: find similar tea place in London

On the way back to London, it was late evening, we were really surprised to see thousands of rabbits sitting by the edge of the road … what the hell were they doing there? Another mystery …
