5:16am, I have woke up some time ago and I cannot fall back a sleep ...

what should I do ?

I have noticed that if I am sleeping under a thin blanket it is much easier to wake up in the morning ... it is definitely much more comfortable to sleep under a heavy one and sometimes the heavy one can bring the nightmares ... it never happens with the thin one ...

There is also a theory that our sleep cycle has a sinus shape ... with a period of more or less of hour and a half ... I must say that it is somehow true for me. Always when I wake spontaneously during the night it is around particular hours ... 7:30 ... 6 ... 4:30 ... 3 ... 1:30 ... etc ...

today I woke up at 4:30ish ... so the next sleeping session should start around 6 .. hmm .. it is better I will be back to bed ... to try and catch the next sleeping bus ;)

the sun is already shining ... what makes it waking up so early, i wonder ...

naked bike ride

Naked bike protest was a couple of weeks ago. They are protesting against usage of oil and doing so by a very original way; they are getting naked and cycle around the main cities. This time it was in London. It is not the first time they are organising this event, apparently there were around 800 people last year … I would say there were not let then that this time. They have started at Hyde Park and went down all the main streets around the city, crazy isnot it ? I was willing to join but unfortunately nobody was generous enough to lend me his bike …

To summarise; I was disappointed. I was expecting nice bums and beautiful people but unfortunately it was so boring … at some point I thought that the same people dressed might be even better .. it might leave some place for imagination ….

Bits and bobs.

I havenot disappeared, I just run out of time. The last couple of weeks were highlighted by my dad’s visit. This led me literally to no time at all to any other activities. I was doing my regular research activities during the day and then sightseeing during the rest time … really packed time schedule. But there were activities I have participated … and some were completely crazy, will tell about them in the next posts ...

Google mania ..

As far as you probably aware my blog has a special background mechanism with log and ranking system. This system has a special feature to can recognise and show all the queries which were typed in any search website (google, yahoo .. etc) and led the people to my blog.

A couple of days ago I found this query … somebody from California, US … the person entered the following text query into google : “hours for krakadil to sleep”

And came to my blog ! It is wicked ! :)

Worming, my bump

UK is getting obsessed with the emissions and CO footprint. I will say more then that, I would say that it is just fashion. Have a look at this new regulation for example:



The advertisement says that every house sold in UK will have to have its energy efficiency chart! It is law! Crazy, is not it?

My previous professor has changed my views on the topic by opening my eyes to the the following facts; firstly the earth temperature is changing constantly through its millions of year’s life span, it is a natural process. Secondly, the earth’s surface temperature is related to many factors. Try imagine the outside space with its lowest temperature possible (-182 Celsius) and almost highest possible deep inside the earth (thousands of degrees Celsius). Now, are we really expecting earth’s surface temperature to stay constant and balanced with the precision of 0.1 degrees? We are not the problem of this global worming, we might be only small part in this huge environment change. Other ideas are required to help people surviving the coming changes, preventing it will bring us nowhere.

Counting emissions here while China/Russia etc countries do not care about it is not the solution. Too much money is spent on rebuilding current facilities while for my opinion the new developed technology will eliminate the usage of the old one naturally with some time; therefore it does not worth spending money on rebuilding anything just because of the emission level.

For my opinion we are currently going too deep into it, the feeling is that somebody is doing a lot of money from this global worming campaign. I might guess that the next step will be to rank people for their breathing rate!

I might be breathing to fast, but please don’t tell me that leaving the lights on is going to be considered the crime against humanity. Do I hear agreement here?

lovely couple

This time want to introduce you a lovely couple. His name is Peter and her Tanya. He is from Poland and she is from Ukraine. I met them one day randomly in a pub and since we had a couple of pints together …

The reason I decided to mention them is that they make me giggle from laugh. She speaks Polish, Russian and Ukrainian freely while he has some problems with Russian. After a couple of drinks she decides to help me understanding his talks and repeats every of his sentences ... but when she repeats them, she actually rephrases them ... and not always correctly, adding her own interpretations. He cannot let it go so he corrects her ... then she corrects him ... and so on … and it is so funny!

From the beginning I had a very good and comfortable feeling in their company. The feeling is that you know them almost for ages, which is so nice ….

They might be getting married this summer, I should be invited to the wedding …
