Twelfth night, or what you will
This weekend I went with my colleagues to an open air play at the Regent’s park. A comedy by William Shakespeare named “Twelfth night, or what you will”. It was beautiful; the big stage, the great weather, the nice costumes, and the players. Unfortunately the language is difficult, hardly understandable. To be honest, if English is not your mother-tang then watching a Shakespeare’s play without preparation would be a waste of time. If you understand nothing then after half an hour of watching the beauty you get tired and bored. Ofcourse I am not that wise and already had my first lesson a number of months ago when I went with friends of my family to The Globe theatre, the last Shakespeare wood theatre in the world, and understood nothing. So this time I did my homework and read the play forehead, translated to Russian.

Shakespeare’s stories are good and probably most of them can apply to these days. After watching it, it made me sad is that “Love” is not dealt with care anymore. It was probably amazing once to send letters for the beloved ones and hope for a reply, sing serenades under the window, and finally if it there is a mutual attraction to hold it with both hands. These days with the mobile phones and internet dating the entire story became ridiculous; sleeping with a person on a first date … what kind of relations can come out of it? No wonder there is a huge divorce rate, and why to sleep with a stranger at all, a rushed joy might bring a momentary relieve but cannot fill you up emotionally.
Maybe its just that I am getting older and hopefully wiser … bloody hell … 30 sooooon ……
