New Years Adventure (part2)
The time I spent on skiing slots is zero. Yes indeed, I have not managed going skiing at all; The first day we arrived late just after the group left skiing. The second day, I was probably so tired that nobody managed waking me up, so I missed the group leaving again and I could not be bothered going on my own. For the third day I successfully wake up on time but decided not to go because the snow was too icy and the group went to the hard slopes, of course they can, they were already trained for two days. For the later days, I decided to follow the trend and not to attend skiing. Instead of that I went hiking in the mountains. Check out this photo.

Later we went hiking in a small group, check this one as well.

The New-Years party was well prepared. It was in a restaurant just at the edge of the city. The place as its own was really great; wooden building with number of rooms which smelled of tavern and a proper fire-ash. The only bit which was frustrating is that we were the only young population there. Ohh, the dressings, I have to mention that everybody (except me) was really prepared for the party; the girls had gorgeous dresses and perfect makeup while the guys went with suits ! I couldnot imagine that it will be suit and a tie party, all I had is jeans and a shirt. Lucky me nobody commented on that, probably because we had more girls then the guys.
The celebrations started in a proper sitting matter with toasts and starters and even life music with a funny band. The band had drove us to the dancing floor with a kissing task. Everytime there was a person in a circle and when the music stopped the person had to choose somebody from the crowd, give him a kiss and then the kissed person will stay in a circle.

The peak a celebration was of course the midnight. We went out with bottles of champaign. It was just breathtaking moment; it was snowing with below zero temperatures, with all around covered snow, fireworks everywhere and champaign poured like water.

The rest I hardly remember. Next day we were resting … and day after we drove all the way back to france.
To summarize; Poland is good and quiet place to visit but I would give them a number more years to develop to Europe standards. They will manage; they have great hospitality, long lasting traditions and great drinking habits. All of that can already be seen in a number of places but the communist spirit of careless attitude is still there and can strongly felt around. Probably it’s the matter of generation and the current one will change the country for better.
