Munich

Have you ever been to Munich ? I have, but I remember almost nothing. … I do remember a number of plazes but somehow I have a clearer view of the pubs.

It has started as a silly idea by my friend to make an international meeting of his friends in Munich. It is cheap and sounds like and adventure, therefore after a bit of hesitation I have decided to join. As it was planned, we have arrived to the airport, had a glass of whiskey and fall a sleep during the flight.

The next two days are blurred; We have walked on the streets, have been to a number of pubs, a Russian club. The doctors (the other two friends) punched noses to each other and it was huge bleeding, in addition to that they have managed getting a 40 euro fine for the ticketless train journey. The first night we have slept in a cheap hostel and the second night we have slept all together in the living room of our other friend flat.

One of the evenings, we were so full of site seeing and after a proper supper, we had a nap at the Pushkin Restaurant. The guys have managed snoring, which made the owners and other visitors wonder of the naughty guests.

It was definitely fun … and good mental rest as well because I got back to london as rested as never before …

Happy Hanukah !

This year I havenot forgot about the Hanukah as it has happened to me last year. This year I have asked my friends to buy me candles and I am lighting them every day ! What a nice tradition !

Although, will have to admit, I skipped one day yesterday … when I remembered it was already 3 am .. so I have decided skipping it …

We were thinking to make a hanukah lighting in the university, but unfortunately we were explained that we should have applied earlier so the security can be arranged .. will try doing it next year …

Happy Hanukah! and if you have got kids, don’t forget giving them “gelt” :)

Movember

So in our lab, we have decided contributing to the Movember movement by growing Moustaches ... I could hardly see myslf going with Moustache ... therefore I have decided not shaving at all for the month ... and then shaving it moustache style only for the group photo ...

Birthday

It was my birthday some time ago ... I am wondering if anybody at all likes birthdays. It is really nice when parents and friends are calling to congratulate ... but it is definitelly sad day ... maybe I just need to get used to the idea that I am not 15th anymore .... then everything might be much easier.

This year I have managed telling nobody from my colleagues that I have a birthday, so it was me alone having a cup of tea and scones and reading newspaper ... it was nice and strange indeed !

Later, during the evening I was surprised with a cake invitation ...


And then a day after I have got another one ...


and then a day after ... another one ...


This year like never before the birthday was lonely on the one hand .. but full of cakes on the other ....

and I have got nice presents as well ! I have got gloves, scalf and a nice shurt !
and luckily me I have already managed loosing the mitts ;)

so at my 29(!!!) .. I was offered to have a silly rope ... the one to keep the mitts from loosing ... :))
